A little history about us…
Primary Purpose House was founded by Monte Rose, who for years had a dream of starting a sober living house that was different from the others in the Houston / Gulf Coast Area. His plan was to create a truly unique home that fostered its residents with old fashioned 12 step inspired altruism and spirituality. Monte and Devin have been friends for many years and they would often talk about this dream of a house to help guys in recovery. Well with a lot of prayer and the help of some investors Primary Purpose was born October 2017. A home touched by God to help men in a pivotal time in their lives. In most cases clients move to Primary Purpose House after they have finished a course of inpatient treatment at one of the nearby treatment centers. Some move in from other areas, possibly home and even some straight out of jail or prison. Typically we want our new member to have a least 30 days of sobriety before this move in.
Why Sober living?
Moving into sober living is an extremely smart move for people getting out of treatment as it adds a supportive, safe, and loving environment for guys while they are beginning a new life in recovery. Primary Purpose makes this transition very safe and fun. We operate the house on spiritual principles and promote accountability and the continuous working the 12 steps of recovery. Many guys coming into our house have little experience with 12 step recovery but quickly become to enjoy it and see that their lives improve dramatically when following such principles. We are able to maintain a culture of recovery by having nightly wrap up meetings, accountability through random drug and breathalyzer screenings, weekly speaker meetings and access to a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. It’s been over two years since we have opened and God has truly shown up in Primary Purpose and the lives of all who are involved. It’s an amazing place to live or visit, in fact you don’t even have to live here to come hang out with us, we’d love to see you.

The concept is simple but there is a lot to know about Primary Purpose. We would love to give you a tour of our house and answer any questions that you might have. We do NOT look at our guys in a cookie cutter type of way, instead we know that each individual will need a different level of attention and help. We are all on the same mission, to get sober and help other alcoholics and addicts do the same, but some of us need a little more help in the beginning and so we are all there for those men. We are at the service of all our guys and so far we have had over 100 men come through our house and we are thrilled to say that many of these men are still sober and happy today.
